    Description: Road Cleanup!
Helping Jersey Sound with Road Cleanup as part of New Jersey's Clean Communities initiative (https://njclean.org/), is a great way to start the day, make a difference in your community, and help a terrific local non-profit arts group at the same time!

For those who are unfamiliar with this way more fun than it sounds like activity, basically you can help the chorus earn a generoud stipend from Evesham Public Works by cleaning up litter along a small section of N. Elmwood Rd. between Route 70 and Greenbrook Dr. in Marlton, NJ. Jersey Sound is even honored with a special street sign along this route to acknowledge our contributions to keeping our environment clean! We provide rolling carts that make pickup a breeze, and Public Works provides us with safety vests, gloves, grabbers, and trash bags. You're not trudging through the forest or high weeds. We just clean up litter along the sides of the road (basically to the tree line, to the sidewalk, or property line). This is actually quite fun! We work in teams, and can "compete" with each other - who gets the most trash, who finds the weirdest trash, etc... The more people involved the more fun it is and the quicker we are finished.

We meet at 9:30 AM this Saturday morning at the N. Elmwood Road Parking Lot entrance to St. Issac Jogues Church. The address for St. Isaac Jogues Church is 349 Evesboro-Medford Rd., Marlton, NJ 08053, and the parking lot where we meet is located at the corner of N. Elmwood Rd. and Evesboro - Medford Rd.
Cleaning generally takes no more than two hours, if that. This activity is open to all ages, but children under 18 need to be accompanied and supervised by an adult. All volunteers are responsible for their own safety and wellbeing, and will not hold either Jersey Sound Chorus or Evesham Public Works responsible for any injuries, accidents, issues, or damage. You will be asked to sign a waiver.

As a special thank you, a fresh, homemade breakfast pastry and coffee or orange juice will be made available for all volunteers. Please feel free to bring anything else you would like or just bring yourselves. Suggested clothing for this event is closed toed shoes and possibly long pants if you are the super environmentalist that just can't help but wander farther than necessary into the trees to get a stray can. And bringing your own gloves is never a bad idea, even though the do provide us with some.

Thanks to all volunteers in advance! The more volunteers we have helping, the faster we finish.! Bring friends! Bring kids! ...strangers you find picking up litter while walking down the street! So, if you find yourself available this Saturday morning and able to get to the Marlton area, PLEASE JOIN US!
